Project Description

Woodbrooke Medical Complex

The Woodbrooke Medical Complex consists of several medical office buildings including, but not limited to, Peninsula Imaging Center, Peninsula Orthopaedic Associates Physical Therapy, Peninsula Orthopedic Associates, Tidal Health Wellness Center and Three Lower Counties Adult Medicine. Roadways connecting to several out parcels, parking, landscaping, water and sewer services, and stormwater management facilities were created. In addition to on-site management, the stormwater facilities provide management for a previously approved townhouse development adjacent to the Woodbrooke Medical site.

The existing site had a 50’ SHA drainage easement running through the property containing a large swale that drained the highway stormwater to a stormwater area to the west of the property. Development of the property required redirecting the highway stormwater with three 36” storm drainpipes around the perimeter of the site to the original discharge point. Eliminating the drainage easement increased the amount of buildable land on site.

The round-a-bout was designed for smooth traffic flow and to connect multiple medical centers. A false bridge was designed over a culvert between two stormwater management ponds to accommodate both vehicles and pedestrians. The bridge includes cedar handrails and a stamped concrete roadway. A scenic walking path was designed around one of the stormwater management ponds.
