Davis, Bowen, & Friedel, Inc. (DBF), provided full-service engineering for the Somerset County Tank Coating project, which included design, permitting, bidding, construction administration, and construction inspection services. The project encompassed the painting of the existing elevated storage tank, including repairs, blast cleaning interior, wash down and spot cleaning the exterior; and repainting of the interior and exterior with approved coatings for potable water storage systems. Additional work included: concrete foundation repair, upgrades to safety climbing equipment; exterior welding, screen replacement, and roof mounted pole antenna replacement.

DBF enlisted the assistance of a specialty consultant, Tank Inspection Services, Inc., who specializes in potable water storage tank repair and coating inspections. The construction was completed on time and under budget with DBF’s construction phase engineering team coordinating with the Sanitary District, Tank Inspection Services, Inc., and the contractor (Minoan, Inc.), while DBF’s construction administration team coordinated quality control throughout construction.
