Project Description

Love Creek Elementary School

The Love Creek Elementary School is an elementary school located on 25.26 acres of land, designed to accommodate over 720 students.

Davis, Bowen & Friedel, Inc (DBF), completed a traffic impact study and traffic signal justification study which were then used by the civil design team to complete the site design of the project. The civil design team prepared a conditional use application and participated in the conditional use process including public hearings, and ultimately received conditional use approval.

The design included parking lot layout, building placements, utility locations, grading, stormwater management, landscaping and active amenities to be used by the students. The site design was completed in accordance with all local, state and federal regulations.

The stormwater system was designed to meet the most recently adopted stormwater management regulations and includes the use of green technology practices. The sewer was designed for the new school and adjacent Delaware State Police Troop 7 project. The SR-24 entrance was designed in accordance with Del-DOT standards and specifications. The existing signal was redesigned to include the new access to the proposed elementary school.
