Project Description
Lighthouse Lakes
Lighthouse Lakes, a residential community of over 250 homes, is a resort area development within the municipality of Selbyville, Delaware – about fifteen minutes from the Atlantic Ocean. Davis, Bowen & Friedel, Inc. (DBF), was engaged by the developer to master plan the community, as well as provide surveying and civil engineering services throughout. Amenities were also designed by DBF, including the 3,800 SF single-story clubhouse and accessory structures that included a restroom pavilion, bar pavilion, fire-pit area pergola and customized fencing. Master planning services also encompassed a swimming pool, deck, playground and putting green.
As a part of the community plan, the clubhouse was located to serve as a welcoming gateway building, immediately viewable by visitors and residents as they drive and bike into the neighborhood. The architecture is reminiscent of craftsman style buildings, much like the speculative homes available to lot purchasers within Lighthouse Lakes. These homes were designed to be modest in scale and harmonious with the surrounding homes. A stacked-stone base and columns are complimented with both board-and-batten and shingle sidings. The interior boasts a large “living room” complete with bar, fireplace and flat screen televisions. Also available is an exercise room, yoga room, card room, catering kitchen and restrooms. A large compliment of windows overlook the pool area.
A full complement of in-house services were provided, including architecture, structural engineering, civil engineering and surveying. Schematic design services incorporated the use of three-dimensional computer graphics technology which allowed the client early participation in the design process, including the selection of materials and potential color options..
