Project Description

King Commercial

Davis, Bowen & Friedel, Inc., (DBF), provided civil and traffic engineering, construction administration and surveying services for the development of King Commercial, a commercial subdivision comprised of five parcels. Located in the Town of Camden, the total parcel originally consisted of approximately 41 acres and the commercial component consisted of 11.3 acres of land.

The project created five outparcels, new roads and residual lands. The design included grading, stormwater management, utilities, signal installation and two commercial entrances. One of the new roads was designed to accommodate traffic to and from Route 13 as well as a connection to the future Camden-Bypass. The second road, East Street, was designed for access to all 5 parcels as well as to provide inter-connection from South Street to Voshell Mill Road.

Stormwater management included design and construction of two infiltration basins. Water was designed to meet the requirement of the Camden-Wyoming Sewer Water Authority and the sewer was designed to meet the requirements of the Kent County Department of Public Works. In addition to the design work, our office surveyed portions of U.S. 13 and Voshell’s Mill Road along with internal areas.

After receiving agency approvals, our office provided construction administration to include inspection services, bi-weekly progress meetings, schedule coordination, coordinating maintenance of traffic and signal activation.
