Davis, Bowen & Friedel, Inc. (DBF), is the civil engineer of record for a new 92,540 SF, 720-student elementary school located in Milton, Delaware. The new school is located on the same property as the existing school (which remained open during the duration of the project).

Our firm was responsible for preparing the preliminary site plan in consultation with the lead architecture firm. The internal design included traffic flow for buses, parental drop off, faculty and passenger mobility. The stormwater was designed to meet the stormwater regulations that were adopted in 2014; the stormwater design includes the use of bio-filtration swales and infiltration ponds.

The project was also designed to meet the requirements of Tidewater Utilities for water, Sussex County Engineering for sewer, Division of Health and Social Services for water main construction and DNREC for the wastewater construction permit and sediment and stormwater management.
