Project Description
DAFB | Dormitory & Meditation Gardens
DBF oversaw the design of the DAFB Dormitory & Meditation Gardens with coordination from DAFB construction/engineering and Air Mobility Command design center at Scott AFB. Parties refined a new “quad-style” concept for 4-occupant suites for enlisted Airmen. Project included four options for pricing ranging from 112 to 148 beds.
Our involvement with the design of the new 148-bed dormitory constructed at Dover Air Force Base gives us a great understanding of the new philosophy of renovating dormitories from single rooms to the 4-occupant suites or quads. We worked very closely with Housing and Engineering staff at Dover Air Force Base and the Air Mobility Command Design Center at Scott Air Force Base on refining this concept for new housing.
Our firm was very successful in making this a design that met Air Force requirements as well as the budget for the job.
