Chesapeake Health Care (CHC), a community health care group that provides total care for patients throughout the three lower counties on the Eastern Shore sought the design/build expertise of Davis, Bowen & Friedel (DBF), and Gillis Gilkerson Inc. (GGI), to construct a new medical building in Berlin, Maryland.

Chesapeake Health Care’s mission is to provide affordable, culturally competent patient and family-centered health care, regardless of their ability to pay. To aid in their mission, expand their care offerings, and address the growing needs of the community, the DBF/GGI team collaborated with CHC to achieve these goals.

The new 7,200 SF facility provides adult and pediatric care, behavioral health, and lab services to residents of Worcester County and beyond. New spaces include 17 therapy rooms for mental health services, eight exam rooms, a lab, spaces for group therapy and telehealth treatment, as well as other adult and pediatric care spaces. This state-of-the-art medical building replaces CHC’s smaller medical office located in Berlin.
