Project Description
Amazon Distribution Center
Davis, Bowen & Friedel, Inc. (DBF), completed the project design on a 1,254,000 SF warehouse facility for Duke Realty within the Town of Middletown. The facility was to serve as a distribution/warehouse facility for the Mid-Atlantic region.
DBF was contracted to provide full civil engineering and surveying services for the approximately 76-acre site. Because of the “fast tracked” schedule, DBF staff members were assigned numerous tasks to meet the owner’s rigorous time constraints. From start to finish, the design was prepared and the project fully approved in less than three months. The project included 2,500 employee parking spaces, 64 tractor trailer loading doors with 147 trailer parking stalls, vehicular access roads and drive isles, a pedestrian drop-off area and sidewalk system, and interior parking lot landscape islands to accommodate over 700 trees. The project also included the incorporation of a series of six interconnected BMP infiltration and wet ponds into the project to meet the Town’s Excellent Recharge Ordinance regulations.
DBF provided several services for the project, which included topographic & boundary survey, conceptual land planning, site, stormwater management and utility design, landscape architecture, project permitting, contract administration, and construction stakeout services.
