DBF Expands Municipal, Civil and Survey Departments
Davis, Bowen & Friedel, Inc. (DBF), has welcomed five new employees in two of its office locations. To keep up with the growing demands of the civil, survey, and municipal departments, DBF added two new survey field technicians, two new hires in the civil engineering department and one new hire in the municipal department in the Salisbury, Maryland and Milford, Delaware office.
“With the COVID-19 pandemic, we expected to see a slow-down of work, but we’ve actually encountered an influx of projects and increased work-load. We have been really lucky that our work has continued to grow in this environment and this group of new talent will be critical in keeping up with it”, said DBF Principal, Jamie L. Sechler, P.E.
Joining the Milford survey crew is Brandon L. Hill. Hill is assisting the crew with boundary, topographic, and construction surveys as needed. Hill’s background includes prior experience as a landscape irrigation technician. His knowledge of locating and mapping irrigation utilities, and his experience working a physically demanding job makes him well suited for this position.
J. Wayne Pruitt, Salisbury’s newest field technician is working under the supervision of DBF Associate and Senior Land Surveyor, Eric W. Tolley, PLS. Pruitt has experience working in construction and has served in the United States Marine Corps.
Yesdani A. Perez is a graduate from Delaware Technical Community College with an Associate Degree in Architectural Engineering and Technology who joins the Salisbury office as a civil designer. Perez is experienced in AutoCAD and Revit and will assisting the civil engineering department on projects like the new i.g. Burton Chevrolet in Berlin, as well as the new Talbot County Community Center addition in Easton, Maryland.
Isaiah M. Overton joins the Milford office as a civil engineer. Overton is a graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne University with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics. He is currently working on civil engineering projects for the Cape Henlopen School District in Delaware.
Nicholas S. Bradley is an intern to new hire who started with the firm in January as a municipal engineering intern. He will transition into his new role as a municipal engineer once he graduates from University of Delaware in May with his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. Bradley recently passed the Maryland Fundamentals Exam, taking his first steps toward his Professional Engineering license. ” Nick has been a great asset to the team, taking each assignment head on. His inherent passion for problem solving and his willingness to learn different engineering disciplines made him a natural fit for our municipal team,” said DBF Associate and Senior Municipal Engineer Josh Taylor, P.E.
