DBF Expands Leadership Team
Davis, Bowen & Friedel, Inc. (DBF) is pleased to announce that Kevin M. Shertz, AIA, NCARB has been appointed as the firm’s newest Associate.
Taking on a new leadership position, Shertz will play a pivotal role in accelerating the growth of the firm and its mission to improve the local landscape. Since he arrived at DBF in 2018, Shertz has been leading the charge in expanding the firm’s custom home design capabilities, reaching new clients, and enlarging the firm’s portfolio.
Mr. Shertz is a licensed architect in Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. He also serves as a representative on the Salisbury-Wicomico County Planning and Zoning Committee. Prior to DBF, Shertz was the sole proprietor of an architectural design firm in Chestertown, Maryland. During that time, he was the recipient of an AIA Chesapeake Bay Chapter Citation Award for Architectural Excellence for his design of the “Hollywood Beach House” located in Chesapeake City, Maryland. Currently, he is designing waterfront homes in Easton and Cambridge, Maryland with projects actively under construction in Bethany Beach, Delaware, and St. Michaels, Maryland.
In addition to his residential design work, Shertz has designed several prominent commercial projects throughout the Eastern Shore including the Ocean Pines Golf Clubhouse in Ocean Pines, Maryland, and most recently Dickens Parlour Theatre in Ocean View, Delaware. He also designed Boardwalk changing room facilities for the City of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, which are currently under construction and are set open to the public by early Summer 2022.
“Augmenting our leadership team enables us to grow our client base and better support our long-standing ones. With Kevin’s knowledge and expertise, we know he’ll add exceptional value to the firm and excel in this new role,” said President Michael R. Wigley, AIA, LEED AP.
