Davis, Bowen Friedel, Inc. (DBF), was hired to design a tenant fit out and west side addition for Brick Works Brewing and Eats, a restaurant located in Millsboro, Delaware. Our firm worked with Silicato Development and Brendon Warfel Construction on this project.

The bar and kitchen layouts were designed to be unique to this facility and similar to the original facility, located in Smyrna, Delaware. The brewery occupies most of the addition and is visible from the bar and restaurant area. Close coordination was crucial with the interior designer of the facility with respect to elements to be displayed and their combustibility. An exterior area was also designed, and separate exit requirements were designed to meet code and functional requirements for staff and patrons alike.

The owner’s desire was to have an open floor plan so that patrons may be a part of the entire brewery. A unique element with this project was that the brewery was incorporated into the addition, which is visible from the restaurant area and a balcony area was constructed for limited access for patrons to see the brewing process below.
